SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. – BridgeValley Community and Technical College is pleased to announce that Suzette Breeden has been appointed Interim President of the College by the West Virginia Council for Community and Technical College Education.

Breeden assumes the role following the recent resignation of Dr. Casey K. Sacks, who has accepted a new position with the United States Department of Education.

A longtime leader within the BridgeValley community, Breeden most recently served as Vice President of Academic Affairs, a position she held since 2022 after initially serving on an interim basis beginning in 2021. She retired from that role in January and will now provide steady leadership during this transitional period.

“I am honored to serve as Interim President and am committed to supporting BridgeValley’s mission of delivering high-quality education and training for our students and communities,” said Breeden.

The college remains focused on advancing academic excellence, workforce development, and community partnerships as it conducts a search for its next permanent president.
