Competing in Dallas, TX (May 9-11)

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.VA - BridgeValley Community & Technical College is proud to announce that its robotics team has qualified for the prestigious VEX Robotics World Championship, to be held in Dallas, Texas, from May 9 to May 11, 2025. The team consists of five dedicated students: two Computer Science majors, two Engineering majors, and one General Studies major. Together, they have demonstrated outstanding innovation, skill, and collaboration throughout the competition season.

The VEX U competition challenges college students to design, build, and program robots capable of performing at an advanced level. BridgeValley’s team earned their invitation to the World Championship following strong performances at regional events hosted by the University of South Florida, Northern Kentucky University, WVU Tech, WVU Morgantown, and the University of Delaware.

Dr. Jason Spencer, Faculty Advisor for BridgeValley’s VEX Robotics team said, "VEX U challenges teams to design, build, and program competitive robots. Our team has worked tirelessly and is excited to compete on the world stage. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and look forward to seeing them showcase their talents in Dallas."
