SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. - BridgeValley Community and Technical College will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM to unveil its new Mobile EMS Training Unit – a repurposed ambulance transformed into a mobile classroom and simulation lab. The event will take place outside Building 2000 (B2000) on the college’s South Charleston Campus.
This innovative training unit, made possible through a grant from the West Virginia Department of Education’s Career and Technical Education division, is part of the college’s broader EMS Jump Start Paramedic Initiative. This unit brings critical, hands-on EMS training directly to students in rural communities, particularly in areas where traditional access to EMS education is limited. It supports the state’s growing need for skilled emergency medical professionals, highlighting BridgeValley’s commitment to educational innovation and workforce development, serving communities beyond the classroom.
“This unit is more than a classroom on wheels—it’s a tool that allows us to deliver life-saving skills and training wherever they’re needed most,” said Jonathan Fannin, EMS Training Program Director at BridgeValley. “It represents our commitment to innovative workforce solutions that meet the needs of both students and the communities they serve.”
The event will include brief remarks, a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and an opportunity to tour the mobile training unit.
Media are invited to attend.
