Institutional Aid

BridgeValley Foundation

The BridgeValley Foundation provides awards for many students with privately funded scholarships each year.

BridgeValley Community and Technical College offers a variety of scholarships from state, private and institutional sources, including the BridgeValley Foundation. Eligibility requirements vary based upon program of study, GPA, and level of financial need.

These scholarships are made possible by generous contributions of alumni, friends, foundations, corporations and area businesses. These scholarships are managed separately from University scholarships and require a separate application. The Foundation offers two types of scholarships.

  • Endowed scholarships require certain criteria to be met, such as an academic major, classification, a minimum GPA, a hometown within a defined geographic location, etc. Almost all academic departments have endowed scholarships available, although some departments have more than others.
  • Unrestricted scholarships are awarded based solely on financial need, and will require proof of need.

All students are encouraged to apply for Foundation scholarships. After completing the application, the Foundation committee will work to match your application with an available scholarship. A single application makes you eligible for all Foundation awards.

The completed application with the required one-page, double spaced essay telling why you should receive a scholarship, describing your qualifications, leadership activities, and career goals must be submitted by July 1.
