SOUTH CHARLESTON, W. Va. – BridgeValley Community and Technical College has been awarded $53,736.20 through the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP) to support enhanced cybersecurity preparedness and resilience efforts across the institution. The grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) through the West Virginia Emergency Management Division.
This multi-year grant, running from December 1, 2023 through November 30, 2027, will support initiatives designed to strengthen cybersecurity capabilities, protect critical systems, and enhance institutional readiness against evolving cyber threats. BridgeValley’s project aligns with statewide and national priorities to improve cyber defense and safeguard sensitive data and infrastructure.

The award includes $42,988.96 in federal funding, with a $10,747.24 institutional cost share, reinforcing BridgeValley’s commitment to responsible stewardship and long-term sustainability. Grant-supported activities will be implemented in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local guidelines.
