BridgeValley Community and Technical College Partners with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Program to Empower West Virginia Entrepreneurs with Free Business Training

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W. Va. - For over a decade, the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program has helped entrepreneurs nationwide grow their businesses by offering a free, practical business training program, access to capital and personalized support services. Now, they are partnering with BridgeValley Community and Technical College to bring this best-in-class training program to West Virginia small business owners.

Through this free program, participants gain practical skills in negotiation, marketing and employee management that can immediately be implemented. In addition, participating small business owners receive the tools and professional support necessary to develop a strategic and customized growth plan that will take their business to the next level.

Across the United States, 10,000 Small Businesses graduates are increasing their revenues and creating new jobs in their communities. The most recent impact report notes:

  • 66% of participants reported an increase in revenues within six months of graduating
  • 44% reported creating new jobs
  • 85% are doing business with each other
  • 96% completed the program

Selected applicants will gain access to world-class business education and connections to a professional support network at no cost. Small business owners interested in taking their business to the next level can learn more and apply for the free program online.

Applications are being accepted through June 23rd, and the three-month program begins in early September. Classes are delivered in-person and online, and all costs are fully covered by the Goldman Sachs Foundation.
